One cannot ignore the fact that in today’s time, living in a no security property is not less than living on a street. You never know when someone is going to barge in your property. In a report, it was stated that stealing from a house happens every 10 minutes around the world, and mostly those properties are at stake that does not have a robust security control system. In this article, we will go through each bit of access control systems so that if one plans to install it, they should know beforehand what they will be getting out of each system.
What is an access control system?
The access control systems are a technique of granting access to a property only to those who have access to it. In other words, it is an electronic system that is designed to control a system of networks by giving authorisation through cards and magnetic stripes, therefore offering a complete protection system.
Types of access security system
Access control system comes in different types providing an additional security level; we have listed some of them below.
Biometric access control systems: This type of system is seen in the schools or organisations where each employee’s or student’s track record is maintained. It is a time attendance system that keeps records of people coming into the property through a fingerprint. It works as a control system as well as a data collector.
Door access control system: A quick on the go control system that is widely used in homes, offices, airports, etc. It is a door opening/closing facility that can be installed with simple instructions also. Not only an electronic door control system, but there are control panel models also to provide high security.
Key card door security system: It works when someone flaps the card over the lock system, and if the security system recognises, it beeps and opens the door. These kind of key card access control systems are seen in hotels and restaurants.
Security access control system: People most widely use security access because it offers various security systems as per the needs. Some examples are burglar alarm systems, fire alarm systems, closed-circuit TV video systems, and automation systems. Almost everyone knows how this kind of security system works; sensors are installed in the different parts of the house connected with the primary circuit. Further, the system can be monitored by someone, or one can choose a non-monitored method. In a monitored system, a person who seeks to enter has to give their names and enter the passcode. On the other hand, in the non-monitored system, when the system detects an intruder, it automatically dials no to local police.
Discretionary access control(DAC): With this type of model, the owner can decide the access based on his/her various specifications. If someone wants to enter, they have to answer the security system according to rules specified by the owner
Mandatory access control: it is a non-discretionary system in which people are granted access based on Information clearance.
Role-based access control: Suggesting by the name, these access control systems are the grant according to person role feed in the system. If sales. manager wants to enter the department of accounts, then he may not give access because his role hasn't fed in the system. This is the only drawback of this role-based security system.
